The Knitterly Hooker is a young Caribbean woman with a passion for knitting, crocheting, and sewing documented on a blog. I’ve only become dedicated to these crafts within the last decade, beginning in 2001 when my mother died. My mother tried to teach me some years before her death, but that was an epic fail. My grandmother taught me to crochet in 2001 and that began my healing. For many years, all I made were crocheted hats then I had an epiphany… it was time to make clothes! And in 2009, that is when I began my venture into handmade clothing. In 2010, carpal tunnel set in, and my crocheting came to an end. I taught myself to knit and my knitting life took flight and has not landed yet! I’m currently working on establishing my own designs. Drafting in progress and execution to follow. My sewing machine only in recent times has become my friend, and I’m still becoming familiar with it, so I am mainly making bags.
I’m Knitterlyhooker on Ravelry.
